klyne: If you have an ALKO chassis they recommend that you jack up under the axle not under the chassis members. You can use the corner steadies as just that but not to actually lift the van. If you have to take the wheel away it would be advisable to put an axle stand under the axle as well. ALKO sell a side lift jack which I have found quite useful; you need to leave the van hitched to the car when using this method.
