Linking up two Aquarolls
Keeping your water supply topped up does sometimes mean regular
refills of your aquaroll - especially during hot summer periods.
Our resourceful forum members pondered this one for a while...

RunAwayHorse: I was wondering if anyone has come
up with a successful method of linking up 2 aqua rolls to gain double
the water (through the one submersible pump) so as to lengthen the
time between fill ups? I wondered if there was some method whereby
a sort of self syphoning sytem could be deployed to take water from
one aquaroll to the other prior to it being pumped into the caravan?
Moose: There is - occasionally they come up on
eBay but I've never seen them in a shop. The eBay advert shows a
self-siphon with 5 gallon water jerries.
iancwilx: Wouldn't it be just as easy to have
2 Aquarolls and just lift the pump from one to the other when the
first one is getting empty - just like we do with 2 gas bottles?
Mick (but it's already taken): We have two Aquarolls,
well Watermasters anyway, and just move the pump when one runs out.
You can then fill the empty one in slow time, rather than have both
run out at the same time which is what will happen if you link them
together. Joining them doesn't save you any trips to the water tap,
unless you plan on filling them both at the same time, which would
be quite entertaining I would imagine. In fact emptying them one
at a time probably saves trips, as you can fill the empty one on
a trip to the toilet block or wardens office.
ampshire og: We have used this method from time
to time, very useful for takeing a shower on CL's etc. or where there
is no toilet block, you dont run out of water at the vital moment,
rinseing off. In the 2005 Towsure catalogue page 120, item 2. although
if I recall I must have bought mine at the local dealer. i.e. before
Towsure. It makes an ideal self syphon but you do have to prime
it first. Hope this helps.
Barney Rubble: I always have two aquarolls connected
when on site. It halves the number of times having to re-fill aquarolls
and ensures that you have plenty of water when you want it most.
The method is the same as 'ampshire 'ogs self syphon, but I use
the Aquaroll Pump Connector Towsure Page 118 item 13 or 14 with
a suitable length of blue food quality water pipe, widely available
from caravan accessory shops with a Whale Non-Return Valve (essential)
Towsure Page 121 item 34 in the end that goes into the Pump Connector.
These are then fitted into the second aquaroll with the open end
of the blue water pipe and the caravan 12v pump going into the first
aquaroll. You must start the syphon first by sucking on the pipe
to start the water flow before placing in the aqaroll. Then when
the water in the first aquaroll is used, the syphon automatically
keeps the two levels the same.
